Access control work involves low-voltage wiring, but that does not make it safe to improvise. You are working with 120-volt connections inside the opener housing, and a miswired relay can damage your operator or create a shock hazard. Even our own technicians treat the opener cabinet as live until verified otherwise.
What you can safely do: check for loose wire nuts at the keypad, clean obvious corrosion from the keypad face with a dry cloth, and verify that the breaker has not tripped. What you should not do: open the operator cabinet, attempt to jump the relay, or rewire anything while the unit is powered.
